What is this website?

Like with most things, a quick Google search is really all you need to answer the question, “why do people blog?”. Common answers to this question usually include the motivation to cause change, the desire to share knowledge, and the intention to build a professional network. And to be honest, that’s mostly the reason why I have started this blog too – although now that I’m writing it down, maybe generalizing yourself in your first blog post might not be the best marketing strategy. Nevertheless, here I am, writing on the internet about why I plan to write on the internet xD. And now, to quickly transition to the thesis of this article (and to best avoid the chance of you losing your interest), here is what I intend to write about.

My blogs will mostly be related to engineering and technology. Specifically, focused on concepts and tools related to robotics, data science and AI. They will mostly be about the stuff I know from my technical experiences or about the things I'm currently learning. For the sake of shareability and reference-ability, I have categorized my blog posts as follows.

  • Technical Articles: These are short articles about technical concepts related to engineering and robotics. I will mostly be discussing the technical aspects of the research/projects that I am currently involved in, new things I’m learning or maybe some crucial ideas that I feel should be put out there. With every article, I will be providing a detailed set of references and learning resources for anyone interested.

  • Educational Articles: These articles deal with the learning and implementation of tools in some particularly niche areas such as robotics, deep learning, and network science. These are technical areas that I am currently working in (and simultaneously learning about). Throughout the last few years, I have found that locating the right learning resources is probably the most time-consuming part of stepping into a new field of study. Additionally, debugging errors at a learning stage can also prove to be extremely daunting. With these articles, my only hope is to maybe simplify some amount of the resource-finding time for anyone who wishes to get into these fields. I’ll do my best to explain how technical tools (such as Solidworks, Gazebo Sim, Simulink, MATLAB etc.) work, how to get started with them, and how I debugged some errors that I encountered when I was first learning about them myself.

  • Personal: These blogposts have nothing to do with technology or education. Their sole purpose is for me to talk about whatever I’m feeling at the moment. You’re welcome to tag along for the ride :D

Lastly, why am I even blogging in the first place? Well, as someone who is exploring the academic and technical world himself, I feel like my thoughts, experiences, and eventual mistakes might resonate with someone else who is learning and exploring simultaneously. Although self-learning is probably the best way of learning, the lack of entry-level resources continues to prevent people from exploring wonderful fields such as robotics and AI. I believe that discussions about these entry-level tools and concepts could really help the overall growth of the field and in general, the scientific community. If you're someone who's just getting into any of these areas, I genuinely hope that my blogs help you out just a little. I hope you have a great time on this website :)
